It's been 5 weeks since our last "weekly" update, so I will do my best to keep this brief...
Things have been crazy here at CSC. We're seeing 200 - 300+ tandem students per week falling thru the skies over Hinckley, IL and Freefall University has a backlog of students who have been patiently waiting for the winds to come down. We are expecting an extremely busy 2nd half of 2008. We've placed an order for a brand-new PAC 750XL, but delivery won't be until spring of 2010. We have already committed to a full-time PAC lease for 2009 to get us by until our new one arrives.
CSC Rhythm is training again today. The last I looked, the Otter was on load 9 by 11:00am! Tomorrow is an NSL Meet with free coaching from Kirk Verner of Arizona Airspeed. We have well over 200 tandems booked for this weekend, so the Otter will be flying from 7:30am to sunset all weekend long!
In our spare time, we unveiled a great new website. We hope you like the new look and feel of www.PerfectlyGoodAirplane.com. We are in the midst of developing a web project that we are very excited about and hope to have it launched by the end of the season. We will tell you more about it as the launch date approaches.
The Super Otter now has 2 new "hot sections" and is performing better than ever. We have put over $100,000.00 into maintenance since she arrived back in the US in May. I am heading down to Mexico City in a couple of weeks to finalize our winter contract again. Start planning your vacation time to join us in Puerto Escondido, Mexico from Christmas to New Years.
We recently brought the Pitts in for some aerobatic flights and inverted skydives. We are working on bringing Mark back for another weekend in August and will let you know as soon as we hear.
As you know, CSC is a Performance Designs Demo Center. We have canopies in-stock and on risers ready to be jumped. Contact Manifest for a list of available demos. If we don't have what you need, let us know and we can get it. Also, we just got the new PD Storm in stock. Check out this new 7-cell canopy that flies like a 9-cell.
June 21st was our memorial event for Frank Bennett. Frank would've been proud of the event that his family and friends hosted in his honor. Over 200 people were on hand to share stories and remember Frank. Frank's 1,600th skydive was his ash dive over CSC.
Another reminder about the flight status service that we post on our website daily. We have added to that service making it available to you via your mobile device. Just text "CSC" to 839863 and get the daily flight status sent to your phone instantly. You will be sent another SMS message asking if you would like to opt-in to our distribution list. We will be sending out several messages per month to let people know about things going on at CSC plus discounts made available only to our subscribers.
