It's been nearly a month since our last update and things have been extremely busy at CSC. With inconsistent weather, we've had some time to get the dropzone back up on its feet. Again, a big thanks to those who have helped out and even a bigger thanks to those who continue to support CSC.
With only a handful of "jumpable" days this month, we were still able to pull off the best May we've ever had and there are still a few days left in the month. After a record season in 2007, we are on-track to do even better in 2008.
The Super Otter arrived back safely at CSC last Wednesday from her 7 month road trip in Mexico. A special thanks goes out to Kro for taking such great care of the airplane and our friends at Skydive Cuautla. We had just enough time to wash the Otter before we put her to work - 14 loads on Friday and 32 on Saturday. We dropped 647 jumpers on Saturday alone! Sunday and Monday were a bit slower due to weather, but overall, the 4th Annual Rainfest Boogie was a big success.
We are quickly approaching our 11th Annual MS Fundraiser - Skydiving for MS June 6 - 8. We have a great weekend planned including live music on Friday night by Jennifer Lucrezio, live music on Saturday night by Dropped Once, Pitts Bi-Plane jumps, and two-plane shots from the Super Otter and PAC.
Let's not forget about this upcoming weekend - CSC Rhythm XP will be training again this weekend starting on Friday morning at 9:00am. The Super Otter will be flying all weekend long. All jumps made before noon on Friday are only $15, after that John Softcheck will be organizing fun RW loads for jumpers of all levels and capping the day off with the always-exciting speedstar. Also, Saturday is the first NSL meet of the 2008 season. Freeflyers, join Matty Wright on Sunday for a transition skills camp.
In a bit of not-so-good-news, we've been forced to increase our retail price of an experienced jump from $24.00 to $25.00 to help offset our increasing fuel costs. Don't forget that we still offer buy 10, get 1 free which reduces your per jump price to $22.73. We've also been forced to get away from our very popular $15.00 to 15,000' Wednesdays and are now offering $17 jumps from the PAC from noon to sunset every Wednesday - still a great deal!
Some of you may have noticed that we now have nearly all new student & tandem gear on the rack in the south hangar. We have made a substantial investment over the past 6 months to upgrade to the best possible equipment for our staff, customers, students, and friends. All of our student rigs are now color coordinated Mirage RTS systems with matching canopies ranging from Performance Designs Sabre2 150s all the way up to PD Navigator 280s. All rigs have PD reserves and are Cypres or Vigil equipped. We also have 20+ matching Merlin Suit jumpsuits on the rack plus brand new Sky Systems Benny student helmets. We've also expanded our Performance Designs canopy demo program for 2008. We have plenty of canopies on risers and ready to be jumped. Just check the CSC display screens around the DZ for the canopies we have available each day. If we don't have what you're looking for, just let one of us know and we'll get it for you.
